If you’ve been grinding through Palworld’s mid to late game and struggling to keep your team healed up during tough boss fights or long resource runs, you’ve probably heard people rave about Lyleen, the grass-type healer Pal that’s almost brokenly good at supporting your squad. I spent three hours running in circles looking for this Pal when I first unlocked the volcanic biome, so I put together this no-fluff guide to cut out all the guesswork for you. We’ll cover exactly where to find Lyleen Palworld, what conditions you need to make it spawn, how to catch it easily, and what perks you get once you add it to your team.
Where to Find Lyleen Palworld: Exact Spawn Locations
Lyleen is a rare late-game Pal, so it won’t show up in the early starting biomes no matter how long you wander. You’ll need to head to the northwestern volcanic biome on the far edge of the map, and stick to specific high-probability spots to avoid wasting time. I’ve tested every reported spawn point over a dozen playthroughs, and these are the only spots that reliably spawn Lyleen at least once every 2 in-game days:
- The grassy transition strip between the volcanic biome and the frozen mountain biome, just west of the large active volcano caldera
- Small ruins located 300 meters north of the Volcanic Island fast travel point, near the group of purple berry bushes
- The cliff ledge overlooking the ocean on the western edge of the volcanic biome, where you usually find groups of Digtoise spawning
You won’t find Lyleen spawning at any of these spots at night, so make sure you set up a small camp nearby to sleep through dark hours if you show up after sunset. It’s also worth noting that Lyleen only spawns as a solo Pal – if you see a group of grass-type Pals in these spots, it’s almost always a group of Dinossom or Ribunny, so you can fast travel away and come back to reset the spawn pool if you don’t see a single solo Pal wandering around. I usually fast travel to the nearest point and come back 3 times max before I see a Lyleen spawn, so don’t give up if it doesn’t show up on your first pass.
Preparations You Need Before Hunting for Lyleen
You can show up to the right spawn spot at the right time and still leave empty-handed if you don’t come prepared. First, make sure your character is at least level 38, and the Pals you bring for support are level 40 or higher. Lyleen spawns between level 35 and 42, and it hits surprisingly hard with grass-type poison attacks that can take out lower-level teams fast. That’s the bare minimum you need to make sure you don’t leave empty-handed when you head to the spots we listed for where to find Lyleen Palworld.
Next, stock up on the right capture tools. Legendary or Ultra Spheres work best, because Lyleen has a relatively low catch rate, around 12% at full health, so you’ll want to give yourself as much of an advantage as possible. Don’t waste regular Spheres on it, they’ll almost always bounce off even if Lyleen is almost knocked out. You’ll also want a fire-type Pal that knows low-damage ember attacks, so you can weaken Lyleen without accidentally one-shotting it. I use a level 42 Blazehowl that I spec’d for support, and it deals just enough damage to get Lyleen’s health down to the red zone in 3 hits.
Last, bring a few antidotes and healing potions for yourself. Lyleen’s AOE grass attack leaves a poison cloud that lingers for 10 seconds, and that damage stacks if you stand in it too long. I learned that the hard way when I got distracted mid-tame and died to poison, right as Lyleen’s stamina was fully depleted. Clear out any aggressive fire or rock-type Pals in the area before you start looking for Lyleen too, so you don’t get jumped by a random Suzerain mid-capture attempt.
How to Tame Lyleen Fast Once You Find It
Don’t rush in as soon as you spot Lyleen, that’s the most common mistake I see new players make. When you first see it spawn, crouch and sneak up behind it to get a backstab hit with a tranquilizer arrow if you’re using a high-level bow. That hit will drop Lyleen’s stamina by 30% before it even notices you, which cuts your taming time in half. If you’re using a Pal to fight it, keep your Pal on passive follow mode until you’re ready to attack, so it doesn’t charge in and kill Lyleen by accident.
Once Lyleen starts attacking you, use your fire-type Pal to land small, consistent hits until its health is between 10 and 15%. Stop attacking as soon as its health bar turns red, because even a small extra hit can knock it out entirely. Then keep attacking with tranquilizer arrows or low-damage stamina attacks until its stamina bar is fully empty. Don’t throw any Spheres before its stamina is gone, your catch rate will drop by 70% if you try to catch it while it still has stamina left.
When you’re ready to throw your Sphere, back up about 10 meters from Lyleen first. It has a short-range knockback attack that will swat Spheres out of the air if you’re too close, so giving yourself that small buffer makes a huge difference in your success rate. I wasted 8 Ultra Spheres on my first Lyleen before I figured that trick out, so don’t make the same mistake I did. If it breaks out of the first Sphere, wait 2 seconds before throwing another, throwing them back to back almost never works.
Perks of Adding Lyleen to Your Pal Team
A lot of players hunt for Lyleen just for its healing ability, but it has way more uses than just keeping your team alive in fights. First, its partner skill Healing Aura passively heals all nearby Pals and players for 2% of their max health every second, which is a game-changer for long mining runs or base defense waves. You don’t even have to send it out to fight – just keep it on your team, and it will heal everyone around you automatically. I used to carry 20 healing potions on every mining run, now I only bring 2 just in case.
Lyleen also has level 3 farming suitability, so it can tend to your berry farms and crop plots twice as fast as most other grass-type Pals, which is perfect if you run a large base with lots of food production. It can also craft healing items at your base’s workbench 30% faster than other Pals, so you can stock up on potions and antidotes way faster than before. If you’re someone who does a lot of boss fights, Lyleen also learns support moves that boost your entire team’s attack and defense stats by 15% for 30 seconds, which can turn a tough boss fight into an easy win.
It’s not perfect, of course. Lyleen has very low defense against fire-type attacks, so you shouldn’t use it as a frontline fighter, and it’s slow to level up if you only use it for passive healing. But the tradeoff is more than worth it for most playstyles, especially if you prefer to focus on base building and exploration rather than non-stop fighting.
At the end of the day, Lyleen is one of the most useful support Pals in the entire game, and it’s well worth the time it takes to track it down if you’re past the early game grind. Now that you know where to find Lyleen Palworld, you can skip the hours of wandering around the wrong biomes and go straight to the spawn spots that actually work. Just remember to bring the right Spheres, weaken it carefully, and you’ll have a powerful new healer for your team in no time. I’ve had Lyleen on my main team for 40 hours of playtime now, and I still haven’t found a better support Pal for general exploration and base management.
